Artist Biography
Jenine Haard is a sculptor and installation artist specializing in fiber and textile processes. Haard's work has been exhibited in numerous venues both nationally and internationally, including Raid Projects and Gallery 825 in Los Angeles, California; Lana Santorelli Gallery in Chelsea, New York City; the Arts and Literature Laboratory in New Haven, Connecticut; the Mills Gallery at the Boston Center for the Arts, and MPG Contemporary in Boston, Massachusetts. Internationally, Haard's work has been included in exhibitions at the Textile Center in Haslach, Austria; Galerie Sei-un-do in Zurich, Switzerland; the Balaton Congress Center in Balatonfured, Hungary; and Vizivarosi Gallery in Budapest, Hungary.

Jenine Haard is also the recipient of numerous awards. Most recently, Haard was one of two recipients of The Drawing Prize, judged by Clifford Ackley, chair of the department of prints, drawings and photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, her work was recently included in the Student Showcase of the November/December '06 issue of Fiberarts Magazine. Haard is also a recipient of the Marilyn Werby Memorial Scholarship, the Peter and Masha Plotkin Foundation Grant, and Best of Show and First Place Sculpture in the Pomona Valley Art Association 22nd Annual Juried Exhibition.

In 2006, Jenine Haard received her MFA from California State University, Long Beach, and during the 2007-2008 school year she was a Visiting Artist in the Fiber/Textiles Department at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She currently lives and works in Boston where in addition to her studio practice, she also teaches weaving full-time to adults with disabilities at Gateway Arts.
